THE MOBILITY MANAGEMENT
The Mobility Management, as forecast by Decree of Ministry of Environment on the “Sustainable Mobility in the urbane area”, can contribute to the reduction of congestion phenomena of urban traffic and atmospheric pollution levels with notable advantages over the environmental, social and economic plan. From this perspectives the Agency was founded the Mobility Management Direction to the service of Mobility Manager of the Milan municipality and the Mobility Area Manager.

The Agency means implement of auto-government mobility systems based on constant information, able of making the users conscious of their choices as to the ways and means of transport, including the opportunity of integrated systems.

The Agency support to Mobility Management activity includes among other things:

  • The spread of information and address to businesses, not limiting to the house-work Transfer Plans of the businesses interested, but focusing the attention on the whole territory that for characteristics and problems needs a programming at wide spectrum;
  • The supply of technical and legal assistance to businesses for the drawing-up of Programme Agreements and for the contributions and incentive distribution aimed at forms of sustainable transports;
  • The establishment of an observatory and a connection network and information exchange with the different experiences of Mobility Management at national and international level;
  • The implementation, through technological innovation, bound to Mobility Management, of instruments able to improve the offer efficiency, the quality and the quantity of mobility services.

The possible applications are:

  • The intelligent semaphore system;
  • Informative service systems for the control of the regularity  of public transport;
  • The mobility system of the available parking;
  • Ensemble of the models for the public and private transport analysis;
  • The informational panels at variable message set along the access ways to the urban centre;
  • The satellite control of the bus position (GPS) and consequently information on displays at bus-stops;
  • The magnetic integrated tariff systems;
  • The control systems of  limited traffic areas (“electronic policeman”).
